Isabelle Gallorini’s team have not been firing this year, but there have been some good performances of late (not least a winner at Toulouse yesterday) and Authoryty Seven can give her a winner at Auteuil this morning (11.15am).
The son of Authorized was very green in the early stages on debut in the Prix Finot here in September (and nearly unseated his rider at the second), looking in real trouble going down the back straight, having dropped off the back of the pack. However, he travelled up powerfully into the straight, came to win his race after the last and got his head in front on the run-in, only to be headed on the line by Libeccio and Excello. It was a fine debut effort in a race that should work out very well.
Out of a mare that won at Listed level here over fences (and was third in a Grade 2 over hurdles), he has considerable physical scope to progress and his form entitles him to be vying for favouritism today, rather than the 9/2 on offer.
