A good quality card at Auteuil this afternopn, but I’m taking a chance in one of the lower-grade contests on the day, with Princesse D’Angers worth supporting in the 2m2f handicap hurdle (4.35pm).

She had no chance over fences here last time in a competitive conditions race and was ultimately well beaten, but she really looked to need the race on what was her first outing for Eric Lecoiffier.

This is more her level, she has had time to come on for that run and it is good to see her back over hurdles – she won a handicap hurdle around Clairefontaine in May 2020 off a mark of 57 (3kg higher than today) and had previously scored on heavy ground at Angers earlier that year.

It has been a while since she has shown any worthwhile form, but the yard she has been moved from have been particularly quiet this year (0-41) and there is no doubt that she has the ability to figure off this mark, with conditions in her favour.

4.35pm Auteuil – 1pt win Princess D’Angers @ 25-1 (all firms)
