Ayman Bentahar has been given plenty of chances this winter for his boss Fabrice Chappet and I’m hoping the combination can strike at Chantilly today with Hialeah.

The well-bred daughter of Wootton Bassett fetched €170,000 as a yearling and showed there is plenty to work with when fifth on debut over course and distance two months ago in what looked a decent newcomers’ event.

Though beaten a shade over five lengths that day, she had a really wide trip throughout, having failed to get cover at any stage from her wide draw in stall 11.  She still managed to travel well into the straight and kept on better than might have been expected given the circumstances.

She is much better drawn in stall 3 today, that experience will stand her in good stead and she looks a good each-way bet in a race that looks to lack strength in depth.
