A cracking card at Chantilly today, with three really good class 1 contests, featuring a host of Listed/Group winners.  There are also two really interesting races for newcomers, so it should be an informative day.

Our first bet on the card comes in the opening Quinte handicap, with Acclam worth chancing at a big price.  The three year old son of Mehmas has been kept exclusively to Quintes in his five runs in handicaps, which suggests his trainer Henri-Alex Pantall feels there is a nice prize in him.

He looked good when winning his maiden last year, beating a subsequent German Listed winner, and was luckless in the run with sixth at Longchamp.  Though he has finished in midfield on both starts back from a break at Deauville, he had a very wide trip on reappearance and then was forced to challenge on the wrong side last time.  His mark has been coming down slowly, but I think he is capable of rating a fair bit higher in time and at the prices, he is worth backing today from a good draw.

12.50 Chantilly – 1pt win, 0.5pt place Acclam @ 18-1 5 places (Skybet, William Hill, Coral, 20-1 with Betfred 5 places)
