The opening claimer at Chantilly is competitive enough for the grade, but at the prices I like Oasis Irlandes.

The Amy Murphy-trained three year old won a weak AW maiden in January at Chelmsford, but has since run well in defeat on two of his three AW starts, including when a close-up fifth of nine at Lingfield Park just over a month ago, off a mark of 74.

Though he has a bit to do with a couple of these on official ratings, I’m confident that a repeat of that performance would give him every chance here and it’s easy enough to forgive a below-par run on soft ground last time, particularly given that was his turf debut.

He has the early pace to make use of his good low draw, and the step up to 7f is well worth a try. Murphy’s satellite yard in France has been doing well of late and hopefully Oasis Irlandes can give them another winner.
