The opening Quinte (12.50pm) takes place on the All-Weather track and I’m backing Tantpispoureux on this return to a mile.

He hasn’t been quite at his best of late, but he has been running well enough nevertheless, and his mark has come down to 36.5, 8.5kg lower than he was rated after scoring in a level-weights class 2 over this course and distance last March.

I think a mile is his trip, and the form of his fifth over this CD in December when last at this distance is encouraging, as it came in a good field including the likes of Sky Power (winner) and Pao Alto (third).

This is his time of year, with all six career wins coming between March and July, and it’s interesting that his trainer Francis Graffard tries again in a Quinte, as he would’ve had a few options in lower grades.

12.50pm Chantilly – Tantpispoureux win @ 13/2 (Will Hill, Coral, Ladbrokes, Bet365, Betfred, 6-1 elsewhere)
