Heavy ground at Clairefontaine today and while that’s an unknown for my selection in the 1m1f class 3 contest (2.32pm), I think there is enough value in the price this morning.

It looks a really weak race and though Besiberri‘s form in her two runs in France isn’t anything to write home about, she came from a long way back on the first occasion at Vichy, and was then beaten in a bunch finish for third over this course and distance in August, running on well in the closing stages, a repeat of which would give her solid claims in this.

While I’m no expert on Slovakian form, Václav Luka clearly feels she is capable enough, given the way she has been campaigned there  (she has run in the Slovakian 2000 Guineas, in which she was second, and the Czech Derby this year), and her latest fourth in the Westminster Oaks at Bratislava looked a very creditable effort.  She raced widest of all that day, but kept on really well in the straight, once again displaying a good attitude.

She has nothing to find on official ratings here and the fact her yard is in such good form is a big plus – 4 of their last 10 runners in France have won, including two at Deauville earlier this week.

2.32pm Clairefontaine – 1pt win Besiberri @ 8-1 (some 17/2 also available)
