Though he has a bit to prove on handicap debut, there are reasons to think there could be improvement to come from En Or and at the 33-1 on offer, he is worth chancing in the 1m3f handicap (1.58pm).

He has had three runs in maidens, the first two over a mile before stepping up to this trip here three weeks ago.  He finished some way off the principals that day, but he wasn’t knocked about, as was the case on his other two starts, and the opening mark of 29 (64) looks fair.

Though I’m no fan of Dariyan as a sire, the damside of the pedigree is really encouraging.  En Or is a third foal half-brother to Anobar, who finished third at Group 1 level, and to Youmdor, who had form figures of 577 in maidens but made a winning handicap debut and progressed nicely thereafter before being sold to go hurdling.

Freddy Head bred both En Or and Youmdor, as well as training Anobar and the dam, so it is a family he knows inside out.  The yard isn’t operating at the level it was a few years ago, but his team are in good form at present and En Or is overpriced to add further success.

1.58pm Clairefontaine – 1pt win, 0.5pt place En Or @ 33-1 (Paddy Power, Betfair, Bet Victor, Betfred, Betway)
