Given the recent record of next-time-out Race Sharp winners, I am a little wary of taking on Kap Et Pas Cap at Dieppe this morning! He was mugged on the line at Clairefontaine last time and holds obvious claims once again, but his higher-rated stablemate Hey Jude is very much the pick at the early prices and is worth a bet.

He was beaten 19L over hurdles here last time in a race won by a promising stablemate, with high-class chaser Galleo Conti in second on his first start since May.  He travelled well enough through the race and it was a nice confidence-booster after falling on his return at Clairefontaine in July.

He has run just four times to date, winning on his sole previous start over fences, at Pau last October.  That was in considerably deeper ground than he will encounter here, but it was a fine performance on just his second career start and he does look better-suited to the larger obstacles.  The form was very well-advertised by the second, who won his next three over fences and landed the Grand Steeple-Chase de Toulouse off a mark of 61 in April.

Margaret’s Legacy looked a smart prospect when winning twice at Cagnes last December and though things didn’t go to plan in two runs in Graded company thereafter, he is worth chancing on his chasing debut today.

He ran nicely on his return at Clairefontaine late last month and this track looks likely to suit the Hugo Merienne-trained son of Prince Gibraltar.

This doesn’t look the strongest of races and though the favourite is a big danger, he didn’t beat anything when winning with plenty in hand in July and looks a little short in the market.
