The rain has stayed away from Fontainebleau and that boosts the chances of Passalito, who is a little overpriced in the 7f class 3 (11.50am).

The three year old ran well to finish third here over 6f in April, running on at the finish, and had to race wide through the race when filling the same position on his second outing in handicap company, over this trip at Lion d’Angers next time.  The soft ground that day probably caught him out late on, and recent entries over 6f suggest he has been showing plenty of speed in his work.  7f on good/good to soft ground should suit him ideally.

He returns from a couple of months off here in what looks a winnable race, and his chances are heightened by the booking of Leo Roussel.  In a race for jockeys/apprentices that haven’t ridden 12 winners in the past year, Roussel (he is the son of leading provincial jockey Alexandre) is good value and he has been seen to very good effect in recent weeks.
