The ever-powerful Rouget yard has the warm favourite in today’s opener at La Teste (12.25pm), but we’ll take him on with debut winner Ma Challa.

 

The well-bred filly won nicely at Nantes on her debut, making most of the running and showing a very good attitude to hold off the late challenge of the runner-up.  That form has been franked by the second (who filled the same position in a fair maiden at Clairefontaine), third and sixth (both won next time out).

 

Her dam was Group 3-placed and is from a decent family that has produced several useful fillies, so it’s reasonable to expect more to come from Didier Guillemin’s representative.
