Christophe Ferland took the 2019 Criterium de Lyon with Chares and Angelaba can give him another winner in this year’s renewal (12.25pm).

 

Runner-up on her debut back in May, she easily justified favouritism on her second start at Tarbes in late July, and followed that with another ready success at Deauville five weeks ago.

 

She showed a nice turn of foot to hit the front that day and while the form isn’t exceptional, it looks the best on offer here.

 

Ferland identified this race as her next target immediately after that Deauville win and she certainly looks a black-type performer in the making.

 

Her dam was a Listed/Group 3 winner at two for Freddy Head, and has already produced a very smart juvenile in Accakaba, who won her first four starts as a two year old last term, including at Group 2 level, before finishing fourth in the Jean-Luc Lagardere.
