My first bet of the day goes at Lyon, where Impair Et Passe looks to hold really strong claims of getting off the mark over hurdles at the second attempt.

The son of No Risk At All showed a nice level of form in bumpers last year and was far from disgraced in a strong contest here in November on his return from a break.

He made his hurdling debut at Angers last month after over three months off, and ran well for a long way in a better race than this.

He has a lovely pedigree (half-brother to dual Listed hurdle winner Gauloise, and to exciting Auteuil winner/UK import Histoire De) and Haras de Saint-Voir’s Nicolas de Lageneste has the team he trains himself in good form.

11.30am Lyon – 2pts win, 1pt place Impair Et Passe @ 6-1 (all firms, though 13/2 with Paddy Power/Betfair)
