The ground at Marseille Borely has gone very soft this morning and that should suit the chances of Mad Whip, who is bred to excel when the mud is flying.

The son of soft ground influence Whipper is a half-brother to a multiple winner on heavy ground and he showed enough to suggest he can win races when fifth in a much deeper race than this last time.  He is dropping in trip again, but the softer ground should help bring his stamina into play and he really wasn’t far behind a few that would take all the beating in this contest.

Trainer Richard Chotard has had a quiet year, but his team are in great form at present, with 4-18 winning in the past fortnight.
