A big field for the fillies’ maiden at Mont-de-Marsan (10.35am), but it isn’t particularly strong on quality, and favourite Le Houlme is an eight-race maiden coming into this.
There are a few in reasonable form, but the bar is not set high and Biologique looks a good bet to improve past them on her second start.
She finished off her race well on debut behind a stablemate at La Roche Posay last time, in what was an above-average contest for the track. She didn’t have a great deal of room in the straight, but it was good effort and she finished in amongst several rivals that would have been given a big chance in this.
An impeccably-bred filly (she is a half-sister to four black-type winners, three of them fillies), she can be expected to come on for that debut effort and the booking of the in-form apprentice Leo Roussel means she’ll be getting plenty of weight from the favourite.
