A fantastic card at ParisLongchamp tomorrow, featuring the Group 1 Priux du Moulin and a nine-race supporting card that includes four Group 3 contests.
I have a couple of early bets for tomorrow’s racing, starting with Varkesha in the Prix de la Cochere. Alain de Royer Dupre’s filly has really looked a work in progress this season, doing a little too much in front on her first two outings in 2021 before bolting up in a weak contest in the provinces in July.
Stepped up to class 2 company at Deauville last time, she looked more professional again (a little keen early, but soon settling in second) and had the race in safe keeping a couple of furlongs out.
She has a bit to find on ratings, but looks a really progressive filly and she holds both the Group 2 Prix Dollar and Group 2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein entries on Arc weekend. Her trainer’s only other entry in both races is Dilawar, who has made giant strides in recent weeks and landed the Group 3 Prix Quincey last week.

He may face some stiff opposition, but I think the chances German Derby fourth Lord Charming has been overlooked by some firms and he is well worth supporting.
He was only just touched off by the French Guineas fifth Parchemin when runner-up here in the Listed Prix Ridgway in June and his subsequent fourth in the German Derby has been franked by the runner-up Alter Adler (who led him home on the far side), who has since finished runner-up to the high-class Glycon.
Unsurprisingly no match for Skalleti in Group 1 company at Munich last time, he doesn’t have too much to find on form with the best of these and represents a top yard with a fine record in France this year.
