The five year old has tumbled in the weights since scoring at Marseille Borely in September off a mark of 35, and is now a stone lower in the handicap.
He was also a winner here last June, winning a handicap over this trip off a mark of 32, while he also finished runner-up over this course and distance in September off 38.5, 23lbs higher than today’s mark. It’s fair to say he has the beating of these if returning to form.
His figures so far this year have been poor, but he ran well enough here on his penultimate start, certainly hinting at a return to form, before never figuring over too long a trip on the AW last time, a surface on which he has never really shown much.
Anthony Crastus (who has been on board for a couple of his wins) is on stablemate Navalis, who is ahead of our selection in the market. However, Marie Velon has ridden five winners from her last 11 rides for the yard, including here earlier this month.
