The Senonnes card gets underway at 9.20am this morning and in the opening juvenile contest, Gavin Hernon’s Fleur De Baileys is overpriced to reward early risers.

The daughter of Dabirsim could only finish seventh on debut at Saint-Cloud a month ago, but she raced wide throughout that day and showed a bit of ability.  That was a markedly stronger contest and the form is already working out.

She steps up nearly a furlong, which should help on pedigree, while her Listed-placed dam was at her best with give, so the switch from a sound surface to softer ground is another positive.

Hernon has his time in fine form, with five winners and three places from his last 12 runners, and hopefully Fleur De Baileys can continue his excellent recent run.

9.20am Senonnes – 1pt win, 0.5pt place Fleur De Baileys @ 10-1 (all firms)

Later on the card, German raider Kellahen looks overpriced to get the better of American Apples in the 1m2f class 3 (11.20am).

The four year old’s German rating of 89 is the equivalent of 44.5 in France (98 UK), which leaves him marginally ahead of his main market rival at the weights.  A five-time winner last year, he bolted up in Listed company at Hannover in the summer before landing the Austrian Derby in September.

He wasn’t at his best when fifth in class 2 company at Lyon in June, but has since had a confidence-boosting win at Wissembourg (scoring by six lengths in a weak race) and it is notable that his connections are travelling to the west of France for this.  His yard are 7-18 in France this year and though American Apples will win if back to her best, she has been off since the end of March and it is a little off-putting to see all her recent entries have been at this sort of level.

11.20am Senonnes – 1pt win Kellahen @ 3-1 BetVictor, Skybet (10/3 available with Bet365.  11/4 all other firms)
