A winner of a Quinte handicap last time out, Friendly Face is worth supporting now stepped up to Listed company today.

Andre Fabre’s son of Galileo may have taken five starts to get off the mark, but some of his maiden form was strong enough, as when beaten a neck by subsequent Group 3-placed Moai at Compiegne in April.

Sixth on his handicap debut in May, he took a big step forwards when winning at Saint-Cloud a month ago, coming from a fair way back to win with plenty to spare.  The bare form will need improving upon, but he is a very well-bred colt, in excellent hands and shapes as though the step up to 1m4f will suit.

Andre Fabre has won this on a couple of occasions in recent seasons (notably with subsequent dual Australian Grade 1 winner Harlem) and at the prices, Friendly Face is worth chancing today.

12.25pm Vichy – 1pt win Friendly Face @ 7-1 (Paddy Power, Betfair, 13/2 elsewhere)
