Go Johnny Go Go Go’s form figures aren’t inspiring, but there are reasons to think she could run a big race on her second start in claiming company today.

She ran much better than the fifth placing suggests at Saint-Cloud last time, in what was a deeper race than this.  She showed good early speed and looked the likely winner when hitting the front entering the final furlong, only for her effort to level out late on.  That suggested this drop back a furlong would help.

Her previous run on heavy ground is easily excused, while she was not disgraced in either of her first two starts in maidens, breaking slowly and racing on the wing on her Saint-Cloud debut in a race that has worked out very well, in which she was surrounded by subsequent winners.

She has a good draw today, Soumillon is booked (two wins and two seconds from eight rides for the yard) and the 10-1 on offer is too big.
