Shirin raced just 11 days ago at this track when the well-bred daughter of War Front was used as a pacemaker for Kelina, who is the antepost favourite for the Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp next month.
Shirin shepherded her stablemate to post and then gave her a lovely tow into the race. She’s been handed a handicap mark of 37.0 since and it’s interesting that Carlos Laffon-Parias turns her out so quickly. This looks a winnable race and Arthur Mosse is good value for his 5lbs claim in this.
Empathic is a plausible winner for Fabrice Chappet but she doesn’t seem the most resolute and is fitted with first time cheekpieces today. Aoraki is winless in eight and I can’t work out why she was defended by her connections in a claimer last month for €45,105.
Shirin is the bet.
2.17pm Chantilly – 1pt win Shirin @ 11/4 (all firms)
Enzo Crublet has a 33% strike rate for Jean-Claude Rouget this term and his 5lb claim could make all the difference this afternoon on board Gypsy Gold.
Gypsy Gold is out of Group One mare Glorious Sight which makes her a half-sister to last year’s Grand Prix de Deauville winner Glycon. She is the subject to good reports in the Paris Turf and is a shade overpriced at 7/2 with Graffard’s Bahayra now out.
2.52pm Chantilly – 1pt win Gypsy Gold @ 7/2 (all firms, Paddy Power and Betfair Sportsbook are 15/4)
O Trasno is a favourite for this column and the smart sprinter makes appeal once again this afternoon in a Class 2 event. His trainer think he has come on for his first two runs back this calendar year and described him as flying up the gallops last weekend!
He’s been dropped 1kg for his last run, when he finished 2nd to Winwood, but that was his polytrack debut and he will be happier on turf today.
A low draw is ideal and although Tudo Bem loves this C&D, the favourite comes here having had four runs in the last six weeks.
Pimento has a flashy rating and anything trained by Andre Fabre deserves plenty of respect. However his draw in 10 isn’t the best and his rating has been inflated since his Prix Djebel second last year. He had five months off the track after that, returning to win a schooling race at Saint-Cloud before finishing fifth in similar company today at this course.
If you are lucky enough to have a Sky Bet account, the four places on O Trasno is rock solid.
4.37pm Chantilly – 1pt win O Trasno @ 11/2 (all firms)
