Eight runners in the 4yo claiming chase at Clairefontaine (2.25pm) and seven of them faced off at Dieppe last time, with Le Gene Bleu coming out on top.  He is favourite to do so again, but I prefer Joli Look and he looks a good bet at 13/2.

He bolted up in this grade at Auteuil in March for Gaby Leenders and subsequently landed a Compiegne handicap chase off a mark of 58 over 3850m.

He has faced some very stiff tasks since, before finishing fourth back in the Dieppe claimer last time. However, I don’t think he found the 3500m on the quickest ground he has encountered this season to his liking, and it’s worth noting he is better off at the weights with all of his re-opposing rivals.

The extra furlong here will help, this track should suit a little better and the booking of Gabin Meunier is a positive, particularly after a double here earlier in the month.

2.25pm Clairefontaine – 2pts win, 1pt place Joli Look at 13/2 (most firms)
