I wouldn’t normally put one up in a newcomers’ race, but there was plenty to like about the way Never Give Way won a race for young riders at Longchamp a month ago (not run under rules) and the well-bred daughter of Camelot is worth siding with today.

A €140,000 yearling, she is a half-sister to two smart fillies, her dam was rated 100 and is a half-sister to the dam of two black-type fillies, so she ticks plenty of boxes on pedigree.  Her sire’s progeny tend to go well with cut in the ground, which is another positive.

The form of AFASEC races are not always to be trusted, but it is encouraging to note the runner-up went on to win on her debut at Compiegne, while the third is fancied in the market here.

Mikel Delzangles has his team in excellent nick at present and at 6-1, she is worth supporting to make a winning debut.

2.17pm – 1pt win, 0.5pt place Never Give Way @ 6-1 (all firms)
