We saw a commanding performance from juvenile Grey Man on Sunday and if you have a chance to watch a race on your lunch break today, the 12.58pm Prix du Mezeray features the exciting Kingman filly Mlle Moliere for Andre Fabre.

I’ve personally had a strong bet on her but I’m not going to recommend her on here at odds-on! I was really taken by her racecourse debut last month where she overcame a potential bogey draw in style. She travelled at least 3-wide throughout and put the race to bed with the minimum of fuss. She clocked faster sectionals than Rouget’s Classic hope in the colts equivalent on the same card and looks to have a penalty kick today. She could be one to come over to Newmarket for the Oh So Sharp stakes next month if she’s successful today, a path that Miss France took a few years ago.

In the feature at 2.50pm, all eyes will be on Ace Impact but there’s plenty to play for in behind. Fabre’s Birr Castle is only a listed winner and has plenty to find on form, but he makes plenty of appeal at 50-1 or 66-1. He swerved an alternative race here on Sunday and connections would have known for months that this race would be Group One standard. Their son of Cloth of Stars has always been held in high regard and today I think he patient running style could see him pick up minor honours. The Irish challenge doesn’t look the most solid to me and the beaten German Derby favourite Straight had been targeting a weaker race but had to miss it due to a last minute mishap.
