The Chantilly horses have not had the best Deauville meeting so far but Juddmonte’s Media Stream looks to hold strong claims down in grade to a Class 2 event this afternoon. Today is expected to be mostly dry, at least until the early evening, and the fast ground is right up Media Stream’s street. As a three-year-old he was often unlucky with his ground and as such he remains winless since last May.
He is clearly well thought of, having been allowed to take his chance in the 2021 Prix Niel and his fourth in a Clairefontaine Listed last time out is excellent form for today’s grade.
True Testament ran well for the yard yesterday in the Group Two and this contest contest looks winnable. Media Stream’s closest rival on ratings Jupyra hasn’t run since last November and the daughter of Le Havre appears best when the mud is flying.

This seven furlong sprint down the Deauville straight course is the second division of the Quinte where it should pay to be draw high amongst the 13 runners.
The market has found Katucha at 4-1, drawn 12 of 13 and clearly in good form having been penalised 2kg for a recent handicap success. She has won two of her 14 handicap starts to date however and must be at or close to the ceiling of her ability.
We are drawn to Madouss, who is drawn in nine and ran on well last time in third when finally given a potentially generous 3lb slip in the weights to 34.0 by the France Galop handicapper. Having run in ten Quinte races and even run in Listed races as a juvenile (she beat a Guineas winner on debut!), she surely can’t be far off winning an event like today’s as is reported in good form by her trainer in the press this week. A further bonus is that stable jockey Frida Valle Skar takes off a further 3lb.
