The 1m1f claimer at Dieppe looks a very weak race and at a double-figure price, it is worth taking a chance on Dal Prato.

Mathieu Brasme’s representative hasn’t figured in two starts at Le Mans, but neither outing has been without promise in the context of this race.  Slowly away on debut, he did keep on in the straight and he wasn’t knocked about when his chance had gone last time.

The step up in trip looks a good move and this represents a significant drop in grade. The desperately-named Lily Ofthe Kingdon is the obvious one to beat, but the very strong Brasme stable form is in our favour and the booking of Dorian Provost is a plus.

Brasme has made it count when dropping his horses to this level in recent weeks (322133412 in claimers since the beginning of April) and hopefully Dal Prato can run a big race.
