The conditions chase (1.58pm) looks an open affair, with all bar two of the field rated within 9lbs of each other.  Though he needs to leave a couple of disappointing efforts behind him, there are reasons for expecting a better showing from Fahawro today and at the prices, he looks a value bet.

The six year old won over fences here in June 2019 and scored again at the end of the year in a €50K contest at Compiegne.  Though winless last year, he was keeping very good company at the top tracks and finished third in a Listed handicap chase around Clairefontaine last August off a French mark of 60, which would give him the beating of these.

He clearly goes well at this course – his fourth in a better conditions chase than this last June was his only other start here apart from that 2019 win, and this represents a drop in grade after pulling up in a very competitive handicap last time, where he lost all chance when badly hampered at the last in the back straight.

This looks a good spot for him and at 18-1, he looks a good bit too big in the market to bounce back to winning ways.
