One bet takes my eye this afternoon at Fontainebleau.
3.42pm Prix De La Malmontagne
Hopefully readers have managed to profit from the recent good form of yards including Jerome Reynier (lovely winner for Nathaniel just now at Toulouse!), Carlos Laffon-Paris and Francis-Henri Graffard and one further yard that might be on the verge of a hot streak could be Freddy Head’s.
Head runs Mirsky later, a Classics-entered son of Siyouni, out of Prix de Diane winner Latice. Mirsky ran once as a juvenile and finished beaten five lengths by Onesto, given a quiet introduction. Connections have toyed with running him over a mile this year, but starting out over 11 furlongs this afternoon looks a wise move on breeding.
Gold Mountain is clearly up to winning this and has run to a rating between 37.0 and 38.0. He’d be the pick if your life depended on this, but at the prices, I fancy Mirsky can take a step forward and add to Head’s two winners this week. The run of Atome in the opener, could be another pointer to the stable’s improved form.
3.42pm Fontainebleau Mirsky 1pt win @ 100/30 (William Hill, Pari Match and generally available)
