Light Wakeup loves it at Le Lion d’Angers and he looks overpriced to gain a third course success this afternoon (3.57pm).

He won this race in 2023 off 1lb higher and added another course and distance success last July off 4lbs higher.  Though not at that level so far this term, two of his last three starts have come in Quinte company and he ran better than the result suggests when ninth here on his penultimate outing.

The quick turnaround since his last run is no negative (the majority of his wins have come on the back of less than 15 days off), he is versatile as regards ground and the first-time blinkers are an interesting angle.  Seven of his last eight wins have come in cheekpieces, which have been left off for the whole of 2025.

This doesn’t look the strongest of handicaps and Light Wakeup is too big at 11-1.

Recommended Bet: 1pt each-way Light Wakeup @ 11-1 (most firms, 10-1 elsewhere)
