A big-field AQPS bumper at Le Mans provides our bet this morning, with Irreverencieux looking a big price on his second career start.

He showed up nicely on his debut here, travelling well in midfield and still going nicely into the straight, but his effort just petering out in the final furlong and a half.  This looks no stronger a race and the booking of Theo Bachelot catches the eye.

Yannick Fouin’s team have struggled for consistency this term, but they do seem to be going better now, which is encouraging, while the pedigree offers plenty of hope.  His dam was the high-class, five-time bumper winner Miss Academy and she has already produced five multiple winners, including a couple of smart ones, from seven foals to hit the track.

There are a couple of interesting newcomers, particularly Isabey Vallis and Ivanochka.  Though I wouldn’t normally put up a newcomer, I do think the latter is too big a price and is worth a small bet.  Her yard has had two first time out winners in this sphere in the past couple of months, she makes a good bit of appeal on pedigree.

11.12am Le Mans – 1pt win Irreverencieux @ 9-1 (various, though 10-1 available with Paddy Power, Betfair)

11.12am Le Mans – 0.5pt win Ivanochka @ 22-1 (various)
