This isn’t where connections would have expected to be running in April when We Get By ran so encouragingly on his first two starts late last year, but today’s claimer does represent an excellent opportunity for him to shed his maiden tag and he is well worth backing today.

He was very unlucky not to win one of his first two starts, the second of them over this CD (his only start at Deauville).  Sent off favourite for a class 2 in December (again had a troubled run, though was beaten at the time), he disappointed in a maiden at Chantilly in February and was subsequently dropped to a claimer last time.

However, that run, in a better race than this, was at least a step in the right direction and connections have priced him to win at a tag of just 11K today.  Mario Baratti is a very capable trainer whose horses are running well and with no strength in depth here, the strong-travelling We Get By looks a good each-way bet.
