The opening race at Lyon Parilly (10.15am) might not take that much winning and at the prices, Hors Pair looks worth chancing.

He showed ability on his sole start as a three year old and was in the process of running well when falling on his chase debut (and just second career start) at Auteuil in March.

Runner-up at Moulins next time to the high-class hurdler Magneto, he was always on the back foot here last time, but that came in a better race and dropped in trip to 2m1f.

A scopey sort, he has a really strong pedigree and the step up in trip to 2m4f looks sure to suit. Nicolas de Lageneste has had a quiet year so far, but two winners from his last seven runners suggests they are coming into form and in what looks a relatively weak contest, Hors Pair looks overpriced to get off the mark.

10.15am Lyon Parilly – 1pt win Hors Pair @ 7-1 (Skybet, 13/2 Bet365, William Hill, Unibet, 6-1 elsewhere)
