A 15-runner field for the 4yo chase at Angers (10.20am) means we will no doubt need some luck in running with our selection, but Inside Montlioux looks a nice price this morning and is worth supporting.

He shed his maiden tag in a claiming hurdle at Auteuil in May, but went on to land a €100,000 handicap there two starts later, earning a mark of 60 (the highest of any of these over the smaller obstacles).

He finished in rear in two Listed handicap hurdles back at Auteuil in September/October on his first two starts back from a break, but there was a lot to like about his chasing debut at Nancy last month.  He was no match for the winner that day, but that one is now 5-5 in his career to date, and Inside Montlioux had the rest well covered, including an in-form filly back in fourth.

It is reasonable to expect some progress on that debut effort over fences, the yard is going well and the heavy ground is in his favour.

10.20am Angers – 1pt win, 0.5pt place Inside Montlioux @ 10-1 (all firms, except 11-1 with Betfair/Paddy Power)
