Entries for the French Classics close tomorrow, and one name I’m hoping to see amongst them is Chateau Fort, as he makes his debut at Chantilly today and a big run is expected.

The son of Footstepsinthesand represents Fabrice Chappet and there has certainly been plenty of buzz about the colt in Chantilly for some time and he is considered one of the yard’s best three-year-old prospects.  A first foal, he is out of the Listed-placed Kendargent mare Gargotiere (who won on debut here), herself a half-sister to plenty of winners.

Today’s favourite Gaidar bolted up in a schooling race on this course just last week, and it’s no surprise to see him a very warm favourite.  However, Chappet provided the second, Doctor Ari (who ‘re-opposes’ today), yet Chateau Fort is very much considered the yard’s number one.

11.50am Chantilly – 1pt win, 0.5pt place Chateau Fort @ 13/2 (most firms)
