The Listed Prix Arcangues is the standout contest on what is otherwise a weak card at Deauville today, but I’ll try my luck in one of the divisions of the 6.5f handicaps, with Zeyzoun looking a bit overpriced to make his second start for Adrien Fouassier a winning one.

He is clearly not the force of old (won off 79 a couple of years ago for Chris Wall), but he was an easy winner of a Le Mans handicap off 23.5 in November for Gina Rarick and ran with plenty of credit in a Saint-Cloud claimer next time, after which he was acquired by current connections.

It was interesting to see him start off over 5.5f for Fouassier, and he ran really well, finishing second to a course specialist last time.  The hood was left off for the first time in over a year that day and everything about the performance was encouraging – he settled well

The return to handicap company asks more of him, but there could well be a fair bit of improvement for this yard, the extra furlong is a plus and the yard have been among the winners of late.  At 12-1, there is enough in the price to merit supporting him today.

4.10pm Deauville – 1pt win Zeyzoun @ 12-1 (all firms)
