The 1m1.5f fillies’ maiden at Deauville (1.25pm) has a couple of interesting fillies for next year, none more so than Delida, who shaped nicely on debut at Clairefontaine.

She was the only newcomer in the field that day, but showed both ability and a good attitude in finishing fourth in what looked a competitive contest.

Lope De Vega’s progeny have a decent record on the All-Weather, so the switch here looks a positive, while her pedigree suggests there could be plenty more to come, particularly next year.  A sixth foal, both half-sisters to reach the track gained black type, as did her half-brother Degas.  She is out of Diatribe, a Listed winner at two and a dual Listed winner at four, so it’s a really strong page – and therefore no surprise that Delida fetched €270,000 as a yearling.

Stall 12 isn’t ideal, but you can get away with it from the 1900m start and this step up in trip is another likely plus.
