The opener at Pau looks an interesting contest, in which the ex-Irish Up Helly Aa is worth chancing on his first start for Philippe Sogorb.

Formerly in training with Willie McCreery, the son of Galileo and Group 1 Matron Stakes winner Fiesolana had some really smart form to his name in 2019/20, and though perhaps not quite at his best last year, a third to subsequent Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud winner Broome in the Group 3 Alleged Stakes at The Curragh shows what he is capable of.

He ended the season on a quiet note, but there have been positive reports since his switch to Sogorb and if he can get back to anything like his best, he should be too good for today’s opposition.  It is his first run on the All-Weather and a seasonal reappearance, but that is factored into the price and at the 100/30 on offer, he is worth supporting.
