Even for the grade, the 3yo, 1m4f handicap at Pornichet today (4.02pm) looks really weak and presents Sudden Death with an excellent chance of getting off the mark at the second attempt for his new connections.

A winner over this trip at Wissembourg back in May for Henk Grewe, he was subsequently third in a Saint-Cloud claimer, out of which he was claimed by Ludovic Gadbin.  His profile since has a regressive look to it, but he did finish in the frame in a couple of claimers and was purchased by Nick Littmoden for €7,500 at Arqana in November.

Littmoden has made a really good start since making the move to France this year, with 14 winners from 76 runners and today’s rider has struck up a good record with the yard in recent weeks.

Though there was no immediate improvement on stable debut at Marseille last time, that was a better race, he was running over too short a trip, and the headgear was left off.  Now back at 1m4f and with blinkers on, he is likely to be seen to better effect.  We have a decent draw in stall 4 and Littmoden couldn’t have found a weaker contest.
