Race Three at 11.35am is a tough race to call, with over half the field unraced, but the draw data points to those being drawn six or lower on this seven furlong course being at a slight advantage. Taking a juvenile with a bit of experience from a low draw looks a safe each-way play and the eye is drawn to Edouard Monfort’s Soul of The Nation, priced at 7-1 by all firms.

 

The Sioux Nation gelding was beaten a couple of lengths at Argentan last time out but had horses rated between 33.0 and 35.0 in behind. The Montfort yard landed the feature here yesterday and he rates as solid place material.

In the lucky last, Lou Warrior looks feasibly handicapped off 34.0 and represents the in-form Bruno de Montzey in-form yard. He won a handicap off 32.0 in February and has a good piece of recent form at the track. Adeline Merou is good value for her 3lb claim and it is strange the the 12-year-old Senor Charly is ahead of Lou Warrior in the early betting.
