Testing conditions at Le Lion d’Angers today, but that shouldn’t pose an issue to Il Est Divin, who is worth backing in the 1m7f handicap (1.53pm).

Alain Couetil’s representative is a triple winner in AQPS bumpers at 1m4f-1m6.5f, the latest success coming at Durtal last April.  Runner-up on his reappearance to a fairly useful jumper at Loudeac at the end of March, I’m happy to overlook his run on handicap debut at Nantes, which is a track that simply doesn’t suit a lot of horses.

This mark of 23.5 should be well within his compass, he ran well here on his only previous visit to the track and the booking of Paul Lotout for this amateur riders’ contest (6-18 this year) is an obvious plus.  Top weight in what is a poor staying handicap, the 9/2 on offer looks too big.
