A weak card this evening at Longchamp with plenty of action taking place away from Paris this week down at Vichy.
The opening maiden won’t take a lot of winning and looks between Game On, who placed on debut at Saint-Cloud, and the two recent provincial placers, Lidisbarn and See The Light.
Trainer Fabrice Chappet is in good form, having landed the Grand Prix de Paris last week with Onesto and doubled up with a promising juvenile, Gain It.
Game On was the subject of very positive reports on debut and although he couldn’t match Bloshkinov, he rates as a good bet in this company tonight to shed his maiden tag.
4.14pm Longchamp – 1pt win Game On @ 6/4 (all firms)
The feature this evening is the Prix de Beauséjour. Germany’s Fire Of The Sun was a winner for this column last month but didn’t convince in maiden company given his lofty rating. I don’t think he has much in hand once you factor in tonight’s 2kg penalty.
Khamma is a ‘too good to be true’ story but was hammered in the betting last time before running away with a really strong Classe 2 event, where the first four look to be 40+ horses. Her trainer mentioned a Listed race for her next but this looks a winnable contest for connections of the former claimer. I think her rating of 41.5 is conservative and she looks the type to be well supported through the afternoon.
7.50pm Longchamp – 1pt win Khamma @ 11/4 (all firms)
