One at Lyon Parilly this afternoon, with Tombecka looking a likely improver on her second start in the mile maiden (3.27pm).

The trio with official ratings, Captious, Luycayano and Pennybaker, don’t set an insurmountable standard, whereas Tombecka showed a good deal of promise under a considerate ride on her sole start to date, in a 7f newcomers’ contest at Saint-Cloud in April.  The first three that day have all shown solid form since and a repeat alone would see her go very close here.

It is a slight worry that she has been off since (though she was taken out of a heavy-ground maiden on a vet’s cert late last month), but the daughter of Kingman looks to have as much potential as any in this field to progress, particularly when considering she is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Tomyris, and out of a black-type performer.

3.27pm Lyon Parilly – 1pt each-way Tombecka @ 13/2 (all firms, though 7-1 available with Paddy Power/Betfair)
