A dual winner over the winter, Craps is a warm order on his return after 10 weeks off, but Shut The Box has race fitness on his side and looks a value alternative to the favourite.

A ready winner on his second start at Vichy last term, he finished third at Listed level at Deauville in August, form that would give him a huge chance here, before finding Group 3 company too tough on his next outing.

He is entitled to come on for his reappearance run at Lyon in this grade (fifth behind smart stablemate Calgary) and the fact he was given a Grand Prix de Paris entry in mid-February suggests connections feel he has the potential to be a bit better than this level, even if that lofty entry looks a step too far.

In a race lacking in strength in depth, he looks the likeliest challenger to the favourite.
