Avolta had the re-opposing Slip Sliding Away one place behind her on debut at Bordeaux in late October and can confirm the form in today’s 1m2f fillies’ maiden at Pau (1.47pm).

Though she broke markedly better than Slip Sliding Away on debut, she was taken back from her wide draw and didn’t have the best of trips, racing wide throughout.  However, she kept on very well in the closing stages and would’ve finished second in another couple of strides.

Her draw in stall 8 is more favourable than the stall 14 her main market rival has landed, and this daughter of a 1m4f Listed winner looks capable of making it second time lucky in a race that lacks strength in depth, despite the numbers.
