Pornichet Tips and Racecourse Guide
Pornichet Racecourse is a flat and trotting course located a short walk from the centre of the popular seaside resort on the west coast. It is one of the most modernised courses in the provinces but still benefits from the relaxed family/holiday atmosphere that you come to expect in France.
The left handed flat course is not too dissimilar from Marseille-Vivaux in the south – the loop measures 1428m (seven furlongs) with a home straight of 340m (1.5 furlongs). The polytrack surface is floodlit and the racing can go on late into the night.
Provincial jockey Alexandre Roussel is the man to follow when he rides here. He has over 1000 wins to his name and over 100 of those have come at Pornichet.
Bettors who wish to extend their experience can check out the Casino de Pornichet which is a short walk from the course. It has sea views and plenty of neon lighting.
In 2019 Lambourn trainer Archie Watson sent over juvenile filly Mrs Dukesbury to rout the opposition in a maiden, scoring by four lengths under Hollie Doyle.

Pornichet Horse Racing Tips Today – 05/03
There are a few that look worth combining at Pornichet this evening.
Endless Chain (4.17pm) has had a few chances, but a second here in handicap company last time out is the standout form on offer and this looks a desperate race. She represents a yard that has made a good start to the year and really should be winning.
Francis Graffard has his team in good nick and Dschingis Grace (5.25pm) won’t get many better chances. She came up against a very well-bred newcomer trained by the brilliant Christopher Head last time out, but still looked a little unlucky to get touched off and really should make amends in this weaker race.
Finally, Swiss Money made a promising debut at Chantilly last time and should take all the beating in the colts and geldings’ maiden (5.55pm). This looks a two-horse race on paper, but his debut form is stronger than that of Camavinga and he is worth siding with in the last leg.

How to get there
Train
Seaside resort Pornichet is not the easiest day trip. It takes 3 hours to reach Pornichet by train from Paris. The TGV from Paris Montparnasse to St-Nazaire takes just under that time and then it is a 10-minute transfer to Pornichet by the local TER train service, which will be scheduled to meet the TGV.
Fly
Nantes airport has commercial flights from the UK and is 60km from Pornichet.
