Brief write-ups this morning, as I have a street party to help set up!

Aurora Boreale walked out of the stalls on debut, but she ran well in the circumstances and is an obvious contender now dropped to claiming company.  There is enough to like on pedigree, Simone Brogi’s juveniles usually improve plenty for a run and she is carrying a feather weight in a weak race.

3.10pm Bordeaux – 1pt win, 0.5pt place Aurore Boreale @ 4-1 (most firms, 6-1 Bet365, 9/2 Skybet)

Sea Of Lau has been too keen for his own good in his short career to date, but there is no doubt there is ability there and this mark of 30 is workable – interestingly, his dam won over this course and distance off a mark of 33 and was later a useful hurdler/chaser for these connections.  Better ground should suit, I would imagine they will revert to more patient tactics today (made the running last time), and the Sogorb team can do no wrong at present.

We’re taking a chance on him settling better, but he showed more than enough in maidens to suggest he can win off this sort of mark in handicap company and the 28-1 on offer more than allows for the risk. At the price, he has to be backed.

5.17pm Bordeaux – 1pt win Sea Of Lau @ 28-1 (all firms)
