Very testing ground at Cholet today, which slightly tempers enthusiasm, but I’m still keen to back Lunatique D’Ainay in the juvenile hurdle (1.47pm).

I’m not totally convinced by the strength of those that have already run at the head of the market in this (though newcomer Shannon Power is an obvious danger), and at a bigger price Jerome Delaunay’s representative is worth supporting.

She finished runner-up at Dieppe on her debut at the end of August, finding only a very promising rival with previous experience (and a fine pedigree) too good.  It didn’t look a bad race, she’s a well-bred filly with the scope to progress, and if she handles the heavy ground this afternoon she should be going close.
