One on the card at Bordeaux, where Kesa Great looks a fair price to make it second time lucky in the hurdle for  four-year-olds (12.50pm).

The son of Great Pretender finished eighth on his debut at the track at the end of February, but wasn’t given a hard time that day in what looked a much better race than today’s.  He has ground to make up on Princess Polly on that running, but that rival had the benefit of experience and the yard’s horses were very in and out at the time.

Augustin de Boisbrunet is a very capable trainer and his yard appears to have hit form of late, with two winners, four seconds and two thirds from their 11 runners.  He has a good record at Bordeaux and his only runner on the card is the mount of James Reveley, which is a very positive booking.

Crisalsa and Project Fear can both have cases made for them on hurdling debut, while Corsico Bello ran well on his first start last year, but Kesa Great looks a likely improver and is an each-way bet at 13/2.

12.50 Bordeaux – 1pt each-way Kesa Great @ 13/2 (Paddy Power, Betfair, Betfred, 6-1 elsewhere)
