In Swoop, runner-up in the 2020 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, has been nominated next for the Group Three Prix d’Hédouville at Paris-Longchamp on Thursday 13 May.

The €80,000 contest is confined to older horses and is run over the Arc course and distance of twelve furlongs.

Despite having finished runner-up in Group One contests last September and October, In Swoop escapes a penalty in the race as having not won a Group Three or above race since September 1st.

Speaking on popular French podcast Radio Balances last week, Francis-Henri Graffard said:

In Swoop wintered well. I picked the Listed race last month to return in due to favourable conditions. Looking back at the race, we knew Sublimis was in good form and was the horse to beat, but my horse ran well in defeat and I’m happy with him. He will be seen next in the Prix d’Hédouville and may reoppose Sublimis.

When asked about his three-year-olds, Graffard issued an upbeat update on his French 1000 Guineas hope Sweet Lady. The trainer said the Prix la Grotte was not run to suit and maintains that Sweet Lady can be competitive in Group One contests. She is currently priced at 10/1 with Paddy Power.
