A competitive evening card in Killarney to look forward to after York and we have two selections for followers.

The Ger Lyons-trained Panama Red will be looking to go one better over C&D than last time out in the feature race. She’s a horse I’ve been following very closely since an eye-catching run at Leopardstown over a mile. She got no luck in running and finished with a good bit left in the tank that day. She was since disappointing in the Irish 1,000 Guineas but that run aside she bounced back nicely to finish 2nd here last time. Paris Peacock was behind on that occasion and she has beaten many of today’s rivals subsequently.

Noel Meade has his string in great form and one that catches my eye is Lunar Power. He has found life tough over hurdles since leaving juvenile company but he is rated 130 over hurdles so he may still have more improvement to come on his flat mark. He was hit with a penalty for a 6L victory for his last start on the flat in Leopardstown but looked better the further he went that day and the step up in trip again should play to his advantage.  Good ground will suit and at the prices he’s worth an each-way bet with Colin Keane in the saddle.
